Kevin’s been in so many different bands, that sometimes he was having a hard time keeping track. One of Kevin’s bands after he left BNW was pest 5000. Jon was part of Pest 5000 and you can hear their full album In-ter/a-bang here. He was also in the band Action Men on Assignment and one of the songs will be featured on the 3rd volume of the Nome numa Quebec post punk new wave Compilation
Kevin was also in the The Nanobots but their name is actually longer and we played one of their songs at our DJ set yesterday. This is their full name:
Their only LP is a picture disc. Probably the most impractical record when you’re trying to DJ. There’s so much information on the record that you can’t see the grooves and you don’t know when the record ends. It’s so frustrating but I love this record anyway.
We dj’d for the first time at the Vinyl Caravan pop up record market yesterday and played 3 different songs with a Kevin Komoda connection. The first song was theMusic Machine (Frida Catlo Remix) by kevin Komoda. We brought the vocoder and I sang over it. We also used the vocoder for keyboard parts over other songs. It was fun!
I played Cité Phosphore by Rational Youth, and the song Akshun by The Nanobots.
